Bridges
Dental bridge literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth and is supported by natural teeth or implants. A bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth by joining an artificial or false tooth permanently to adjacent tooth.
A traditional bridge joins the natural teeth in the mouth, called abutment teeth, with one or more fake teeth, called pontic teeth. The abutment teeth on either side of the gap receive crowns that anchor the pontic tooth in place. Of all dental bridges, traditional bridges are the most common and are typically made of ceramic or porcelain fused to metal.
Getting a bridge will likely take at least two appointments. At the first appointment, the dentist prepares the teeth and places temporary crowns. Impressions of your teeth are also taken in this appointment and sent to the dental lab for fabrication. The actual bridge is placed at a later visit in nearly 1-2 weeks time once the custom made bridge is back from the dental laboratory.
We offer high quality ceramic bridges so please call us to know your best option for a missing tooth.
