A Natural-Looking Solution for Replacing Missing Teeth
Dental Implants by far are the most viable option for replacing lost teeth. If you have one or more missing teeth, a dental Implant can restore your smile back. More and more people are switching to Dental Implants these days.
Implant is a post/small screw that is surgically placed in the jawbone. After the implant integrates (attaches) to the jaw bone, it acts as a new ‘root’ for the crown that will replace your missing tooth. Implant is made of Titanium and other materials (strong & light metal) that are accepted by human body. Thereafter, a crown (cap), which is made to look like a natural tooth, is attached to the implant and fills the space left in the mouth by the missing tooth.
At Freemans Bay Dental, we create custom implant crowns that are carefully designed to match your surrounding teeth, helping you smile, eat, and speak with confidence.
Implants have a long term success rate of over 95% shown in clinical studies. Studies so far have shown that these implants can last as long as 25 years.
Implant Procedure
Stage 1: The first stage of treatment will be placement of Implants, for which we refer you to an Implant specialist or a general dentist who has had advanced training in the placement of Implants.
Stage 2: Our dentist will expose the healing abutment (the top part of the Implant) & take an impression. The impressions are then sent to the laboratory to construct the crown/ Implant bridge (in case of more than 2 missing teeth) , which can take approx 2 weeks or less to make the permanent crown.
Stage 3: Permanent custom made Crown/Bridge constructed by our highly experienced dental technician, is finally cemented onto the Implant abutment. The colour & shape of this crown is as natural as possible.
The Implant which is made of Titanium, is placed in upper or lower jaw. Treatment is typically carried out either using local anaesthesia or under sedation for your comfort. Thereafter, thehealing abutment, that can be made of titanium, gold or porcelain, is attached to the implant with a screw. This part connects the implant to the crown in future. It is shaped like a natural tooth that has been cut down to receive a crown.
The prostheses is then left to heal undisturbed for 3-6 months.
What to Expect During Treatment
Your implant crown treatment begins with a thorough consultation and assessment to determine whether dental implants are the right solution for you.
Once the dental implant has been placed and has fully healed, digital scans or impressions are taken to create your custom crown. The crown is then carefully attached to the implant and adjusted to ensure a comfortable fit, proper bite, and a natural appearance.
Our team will guide you through every stage of the process and provide personalised care throughout your treatment journey.
